The NUTCRACKA' is a dynamic, modernized adaptation of the infamous Nutcracker Ballet that features local, regional, and Broadway talent.
REMIX Theater trains a cast of local talent, invites top regional talent, and brings in Broadway stars to feature in this creative adaptation that bridges the generational gaps of theater-goers and attracts new audiences to this fresh approach on a classic story.
Cast members tell the story of the Nutcracka' through Acting and Dance to a Beat-driven soundtrack that is sure to capture the audience! Performance takes place annually in December.
This production has already attracted the attention, and received coverage from local and major media outlets in the Greater Philadelphia Area and talks are under way for a feature arts Special.

The Annual Production of "The NUTCRACKA'", a Hip Hop version of the classical ballet, presented by, REMIX THEATER, a South Jersey dance theatre company, has quickly become "Your New, Family Holiday Tradition"
This past years performances, boasted of South Jersey's rising stars, joined by World Renowned artists, Karen Callaway Williams (Lincoln Center Performer, Touring member of Riverdance), Maurice Chestnut (from Carnegie Hall and Bring in da Noise Bring in da Funk) and Philadelphia's own, burgeoning Pop sensation, Jordan Shanon, as the "Suga' Plum" Fairy!
Fred Vasallo, Co-Director and choreographer, has adapted the classic holiday favorite, "remixed" the story through a new and dynamic perspective which uses a combination of drama, music and urban HIP HOP, MODERN, TAP and more.
For anyone who "loves the dance", this newer, modern version of The Nutcracker will inspire you. Fred Vasallo's choreography is pure joy in motion! This production will appeal to a wide variety of audiences both young and old alike - it will certainly inspire a whole new generation of theatergoers!
